Don’t think that I don’t care

24 May

I don’t want you to think that I don’t care.

I don’t want you to think that I just want to talk about me and I don’t want to hear about you.

I just have a problem asking questions.

It’s been a lifelong thing, as far as I can remember. It’s not that I’m not interested, I just don’t want it to seem like I’m intruding. I don’t want you to think that I’m going to be your next stalker.

This personality peculiarity of mine often causes problems, surprisingly enough. When people ask me for information about people I may know, I usually have to shrug my shoulders and say “I have no idea.” And, I have no idea because if they didn’t volunteer the information, I don’t feel it’s my place to ask.

Know what I mean?

I can’t think of specific examples, though, when people ask me about someone I’ve recently met, or someone I work with, I can honestly say “I have no idea” in most instances!

I don’t think it’s a problem. It’s just a quirk. If you want me to know something, don’t wait for me to ask – just tell me!
