My latest obsession

22 Jun

I’ve wanted to make kombucha for a while, but it’s been just that – a want. I haven’t pursued it aggressively because I knew that when the time was right, it would happen.

When my friend Laura posted a photo of her scoby on her Facebook page, I knew that I had to ask her to keep me in mind when she had a scoby to spare. She obliged, and my kombucha journey started last night.

I’d already started a Pinterest board so I could keep all of my information together. And I started collecting recipes in anticipation that I’d have plenty of kombucha to play with.

Yesterday, I brewed my tea, mixed in the sugar, and when it was cool, I added my gifted scoby and the liquid it came in. I put it in a darkened corner of the kitchen, covered with a cloth to keep the bugs out and the air flowing. Hopefully, in about 10 days, I’ll have some kombucha ready for a second fermentation – the one that makes it fizzy!

I’ll try to keep updated on the progress.

29 May

I went to school in England, and we didn’t have a prom. I’m fairly sure it’s an American thing!

We did have a high school dance, and to prepare we had to take ballroom dancing lessons. They were a “compulsory option”, and nobody enjoyed the dance, from what I can remember!

On a more recent note, this Whole 30 thing is going just fine. I feel so much better when I eat clean, I don’t know why I give in to temptation so much.

Breakfast: Banana

Snack: Banana & handful of nuts

Lunch: Garden salad w. olive oil/balsamic vinegar dressing.

PM snack: Banana

Dinner: More than one serving of Rainbow slaw with sweet tahini dressing (I also added jicama) and hard boiled egg.

I don’t think I have an unhealthy obsession with bananas, they’re just my thing right now!

Inflammation? Watch this!

25 May

Deep Blue is a unique blend of essential oils that can address inflammation. I have had great success with using it on my knees when I have pain going up and down stairs – and it’s amazing!

Chronic inflammation is a symptom of so many conditions – from arthritis to Alzheimer’s. Control symptoms, provide relief, and get resolution for your inflammation issues with Deep Blue. The relief is almost instant!

Deep Blue is available as an oil blend in a regular drip cap bottle, also in a roll-on applicator, and in a lotion – how convenient!

If you’d like to try it for yourself, leave me a message indicating how best to contact you.
